As a Legal Officer, you will be responsible for providing legal advice to the Organization for it to make informed Legal decisions. Preparing, vetting, and reviewing of legal contracts, legal instruments, and all legal documents relating to the organization’s activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The purpose of this job is to effectively perform the duties outlined below:

  1. Give legal advice to upper-level staff to ensure the best legal approach is taken for the company.
  2. Draft leases, licenses, and agreements on behalf of the organization and offers advice on the terms and conditions on the same to the management and the relevant departments on the best approach to safeguard their interests.
  3. Advice Organization on matters of constitutional and national law.
  4. Carry out legal risk analysis of the organization and advising the management accordingly.
  5. Advice communications, industrial relations, tax, and finance on statutory obligations under the relevant legal Acts and associated legislation and regulation.
  6. Draw up and submits service level agreements, contracts, agreements, and other legal documents in which the Organization is a party.
  7. Present information on a written or oral platform that all associates and staff can understand and whatever legal advice the officer offers must coincide with existing laws.
  8. Promote strong relationships with partners, clients, and external contacts of the o This could mean acting as a liaison between partners and work groups.
  9. Liaise with third parties such as opposing counsels regarding the supply of information and materials relating to completed and closed cases.
  10. Carry out research to make sure the Organization is acting in accordance with all applicable law and offers recommendations on the same.
  11. Keep and manage documentation on approved projects for the Organization to track and monitor progress of the said projects and prepare reports.
  12. Portray highest levels of aptitude, legal knowledge and in depth understanding of the Organization’s operations and procedures, as well as demonstrating commitment and enthusiasm in the delivery of the organization’s core objectives.
  13. Participate in maintenance of quality management systems and Information Security Management Systems based on ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001: 2013 standards respectively by taking part in internal audits and management review meetings.
  14. Uphold a strict level of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity.

Knowledge Base

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and case laws in order to articulate Legal matters.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including Standards Act and guidelines, affecting the operations of the Organization.
  • Excellent written and drafting skills in order to discharge responsibilities for both case review and additional functions and drafting of Legal documents.
  • Ability to foster and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders in
  • order to effectively represent the organization and drive forward matters relating to policy, procedure, performance, and legislation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills in order to resolve complex legal issues and find suitable solutions.
  • Organizational skills
  • Knowledge of administrative and legal processes
  • Computer proficient

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Laws degree from a recognized institution.
  • A valid practicing certificate.
  • Admission as an advocate of the High Court.

Professional Qualification

  • Practicing Certificate from Law society of Kenya; Member of The Law Society of Kenya.
  • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Experience

  • At least 3 to 5 years relevant working experience

As a trainer, you will be responsible for the execution and quality of the trainings delivered by the company:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The purpose of this job is to effectively perform the duties outlined below:

  1. Design effective training content and training programs
  2. Conduct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions e.tc and deliver high quality trainings.
  3. Prepare educational material such as module summaries, videos, interactive Q & A sessions etc.
  4. Identify current trends in the respective field of training based on data and research; and conceptualize training materials.
  5. Prepare sample exams for the respective certification exam.
  6. Assess and grade trainees’ assignments and grasp.
  7. Conduct evaluations to critically examine the trainees’ understanding and progress hence make necessary adjustments to the training as well as identify areas of improvement.
  8. Uphold a strict level of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity.
  9. Carry out any other duties as may be directed by the supervisor from time to time.

Academic and/or Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Information Technology from a recognized institution or related courses.
  • Certifications in ISO Standards and/or other relevant certifications.

Experience

  • At least 3 to 5 years relevant working experience
