We are looking to recruit a Senior Consultant – MSS to support in the growth of the organisation.

About the Position

The purpose of this job is to lead Projects implementations as a Project Coordinator or Team Leader. Reporting to the Project Manager MSS, the Senior Consultant MSS will be expected to deliver on assigned tasks in the expected time and with the expected quality in several projects concurrently.

Job Role

  • Lead the delivery of a broad type of Managed Security assignments. This includes vulnerability assessments, Device-Level Audits, Managed Security Awareness and Security, Performance and Availability monitoring for the client.
  • Lead internal processes for implementation of MSS
  • Monitor multiple security technologies, such as IDS/IPS, Firewalls, Switches, VPNs and other log sources and generate meaningful reporting to the client.
  • Correlate and analyze events using different SIEM tools to detect IT security incidents
  • Create, Follow and Present detailed operational process and procedures to appropriately analyze, escalate, and assist in remediation of critical information security incidents
  • Respond to inbound requests via phone and other electronic means for technical assistance with managed services.
  • Respond in a timely manner (within documented SLA) to support, threat and other cases.
  • Document actions in cases to effectively communicate information internally and to customers.
  • Resolve problems independently and understand the escalation procedure.
  • Maintain a high degree of awareness of the current threat landscape.
  • Lead delivery, and support others in the delivery, of knowledge sharing with Analysts and writing technical articles for Internal Knowledge Bases, Blog Posts and Reports as requested.
  • Analysis of log files, includes forensic analysis of system resource access.
  • Create, Follow and Present customer reports to ensure quality, accuracy and value to the Client
  • Creation of new Content (Use Cases, Queries, Reports) for Managed Security Services.
  • Education and Training of other Analysts in use and operation of the SIEM and other platforms in the Managed Security Services.
  • On-site Work with Clients as required
  • Lead multiple project assignments concurrently and ensure the most effective and efficient use of time and resources at all times.
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned.

Education and Job Requirements

  • Relevant Degree such as BSc. Computer Scient, BBIT, B.Tech and such or (4 years’ experience) in the field might be considered)
  • Relevant Certifications e.g. CCNA, CISSP, CEH is desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • 2-4 years proven work experience is expected

Top candidates will display an excellent understanding of IT Governance and Strategy, Security Audits, Information Systems and Information Technology such as Firewalls, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, SIEM etc.


The successful candidate shall be tasked with the following responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of business and system processes.
  • Examine internal IT controls, evaluate the design and operational effectiveness, determine exposure to risk and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities, and recommend counteractive strategies to protect the network.
  • Conduct efficient and effective IT audit procedures.
  • Perform regular audit testing and provide recommendations.
  • Review, evaluate and test application controls.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance on identified security and control risks.
  • Advisory on Development of IT strategy and related IT governance
  • Work closely with other staff to develop and prepare presentations as and when required,
  • Communicate complex technical issues in simplified terms to the auditees and relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in research activities and collecting data about issues related to IT Governance, IT Strategy, Audit etc.
  • Support the team to prepare reports on activities such as status updates, reports, meeting minutes etc.
  • Participate in meetings or brain storming forums inside and outside of the Operations Team

Academic Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Applied Information Technology, Information Systems and technology; GPA 3.5+ or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • CISA Certification, required
  • CISSP, CISM, MCSE, COBiT 2019, TOGAF, NIST-CSF an added advantage
  • Clear understanding of IT audit methodologies.
  • Clear understanding of IT Governance and IT Strategy
  • Familiar with Security Frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST-CSF, ISO 27701, ISO 27032 etc.
  • Great awareness of cyber security trends and hacking techniques.
  • Familiar with a range of software and hardware
  • Prior training experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Have proven interpersonal skills and team work

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
